Basic Worship Etiquette
1. Bowing at the Torii Gate
Bow before passing through the torii gate. When walking along the approach to a shrine, avoid the center and walk on either the left or right side. The center is considered the path for the gods.
2. Purification at the Water Basin
- Hold the ladle in your right hand and purify your left hand.
- Switch the ladle to your left hand and purify your right hand.
