About Fushimi Kandakara Shrine
Fushimi Kandakara Shrine is a shrine located on the slopes of Mt. Inari in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City. It is situated further up the mountain path from the inner shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and in stark contrast to the bustling Senbon Torii (thousand torii gates), it is enveloped in a quiet and mystical atmosphere.

The shrine enshrines Amaterasu Omikami and Inari Okami, and in particular, the Ten Sacred Treasures are considered sacred objects. The Ten Sacred Treasures are the ten sacred treasures of ancient times, and are precious sacred treasures described in the *Sendai Kuji Hongi* (ancient Japanese chronicle).

Route from Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine
- From the main hall of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, pass through the Senbon Torii (thousand torii gates) (approx. 10 minutes)
- Pass the Okusha Hohaisho (inner shrine worship hall) and head to the Inariyama mountain trail (approx. 5 minutes)
- Follow the trail markers and take the side path to the right (approx. 5 minutes)

- Approximately 25 minutes on foot from JR Nara Line “Inari Station” (including the climb up Inariyama Mountain)

Precautions when visiting
- As you will be walking on a mountain path, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
- In the summer, insect repellent is recommended.
- As there are few markers, it is recommended to check your location using a map app beforehand.
- Since it gets dark after sunset, visiting during daylight hours is recommended.

Nearby Attractions
Many other small shrines are scattered around Inariyama, and a pilgrimage around Inariyama, including Fushimi Shinpo Shrine, is recommended. Combined with viewpoints such as Yotsutsuji and Mitsutsuji, it can be enjoyed as a 2-3 hour hiking course.
